The PLM Heat Exchanger Cooling Kit, model PLM-ME55-HX-JP-WW, is a comprehensive cooling upgrade engineered for Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG and CLS55 AMG models equipped with the supercharged 5.5L engine. The core of the heat exchanger is constructed using a non-epoxied furnace-brazed process, ensuring durability and efficient heat transfer. It features CNC-machined billet aluminum necks for a secure, leak-free connection and boasts an extensive 4000 square inches of fin surface area. The system has a fluid capacity of 1.8 liters and includes a Johnson CM30 electric pump with a plug-and-play harness to optimize coolant circulation. Additionally, the inclusion of Redline Water Wetter further boosts thermal efficiency. Installation is intended to be a direct bolt-on for the E55 AMG. For the CLS55 AMG, the installation requires drilling two new holes to mount the necessary brackets, but no other permanent modifications to the vehicle are needed. Basic hand tools are sufficient for the installation process, and no cutting is required. Key specifications include an overall length of 35.5 inches, a core size of 28.5" (L) x 5.5" (H), and a core thickness of 2.5 inches (with an optional 3.0" XL thickness available).
