Heat Shield

This insulation prevents the dissipation of useful exhaust energy, which improves turbo RPM acceleration, leading to faster spool and quicker delivery of peak torque. Additionally, it helps to limit heat soak to components located near the turbocharger, thereby extending their lifespan and reducing overall engine bay temperatures. The blanket features a durable outer layer made from fragmentized, fire-retardant volcanic rock, capable of withstanding 1500°F direct heat and 1800°F radiant heat. The internal insulation is composed of high-temperature calcium magnesium silicate wool, rated for an impressive 1800°F direct heat and a peak of 2300°F. This dual-layer construction ensures robust thermal protection. Installation is compatible with 2015+ WRX models equipped with stock or stock replacement turbochargers. The design aims to optimize the performance of the FA20F 2.0L Turbo engine found in the 15-21 Subaru WRX. Tie wire is included for securing the blanket, and it fits sedan models only.
