Heat Shield

This universal shield effectively blocks radiant heat from sources like the engine, transmission, and exhaust, making it ideal for applications on firewalls, transmission tunnels, floor pans, and fuel cells. Its construction features a durable 10 mil embossed aluminum face bonded to a 1/8-inch composite glass-fiber core, providing excellent thermal protection. Backing this robust construction is a high-temperature, pressure-sensitive adhesive that ensures a secure, long-lasting bond and remains effective up to 450°F. The shield itself can withstand direct heat up to 1750°F, making it suitable for areas with consistently high temperatures. Its multifaceted aluminum surface enhances heat reflection and rigidity, simplifying the installation process. The aluminum side should always face the heat source for optimal performance. With a minimal thickness of only 3/16 inches, this shield is designed for easy shaping and trimming to achieve a custom fit, making it perfect for applications with limited clearance. Beyond its thermal insulation capabilities, the Floor & Tunnel Shield II also functions as a barrier against road and engine noise, contributing to a quieter cabin environment. It adheres well to a variety of surfaces including metal, aluminum, carbon fiber, and plastic. Note that this product should not be applied directly to exhaust components.
