At the axle end, they utilize Teflon-lined spherical bearings for precise axle location and improved handling.

The Maximum Motorsports MMRLCA-5 represents a significant upgrade for the rear suspension of 1999-2004 Ford Mustangs equipped with a solid rear axle. The unique MM 3-piece urethane bushing system is implemented at the chassis end. This design incorporates a hard center section to combat fore and aft deflection while utilizing softer outer sections to allow for the necessary angular motion, thereby preventing binding and protecting the chassis's torque boxes. This component choice ensures precise location of the rear axle and provides the articulation required for optimal handling. Unlike urethane bushings, spherical bearings offer greater freedom of motion, which contributes to improved performance and helps prevent damage to chassis components. The strategic placement of the urethane bushing at the chassis end and the spherical bearing at the axle end is intended to reduce noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) transmitted into the cabin and to maintain proper spring alignment during body roll, thus preserving the effective wheel rate.
