Heavy Duty Steering Kit

The Apex ProLock Steering Kit is engineered as a direct replacement for the OE Y-link steering on Dodge Ram 2500 and 3500 4WD models from 2003-2013, upgrading it to a more robust T-link system. Construction features include SAE 1045 solid steel forged housings and SAE 4140 hot forged chromoly ball studs, both induction heat-treated for superior strength and durability. The tie rod and drag link tubes are made from heavy-walled 1.75" DOM SAE 1020 steel, while the tie rod and drag link rods are crafted from 2" 7075-T6 aluminum for a balance of strength and responsiveness. The kit utilizes a rugged metal-to-metal bearing design and CR rubber accordion boots for protection against environmental contaminants and extreme temperatures. Installation considerations include the need for a specific steering stabilizer clamp, as the OE clamp will not fit this tie rod; compatible clamps like DC1.75-B or DC1.75-Z are recommended for steel kits. For aluminum kits, DC2.0-Z or DC2.0-B clamps are required. The kit is fully compatible with PSC gearbox replacements. Modifications may be needed for dual stabilizer kits due to the oversized tie rod ends. Fitment is specific to Dodge Ram 2500 (2003-2013) 4WD and Dodge Ram 3500 (2003-2013) 4WD models. Note that 2013 Ram 3500 trucks had a split year production; early models use T-style steering, while late models use crossover steering, requiring users to verify their setup. The kit is not compatible with Rough Country Dual Steering Stabilizer. Certain 03-08 models may require an upgraded pitman arm if they do not already have the 2009-2013 design.
