The coilovers utilize H&R's precision-wound progressive rate springs and are equipped with German-made, monotube gas pressure dampers. The inverted design of the struts reduces unsprung weight for improved handling and precise wheel guidance, even during hard cornering, acceleration, or braking.

The H&R Monotube coilover kit (part number 28850-1) is engineered to enhance the performance and aesthetics of the Subaru BRZ (ZC6 2.0L and ZD8 2.4L models). This German-made suspension system offers a balance of race-bred performance and everyday comfort, allowing for significant ride height adjustment. The inverted strut design contributes to reduced unsprung weight, promoting more precise handling response and superior wheel guidance, especially under demanding driving conditions like aggressive cornering, braking, and acceleration. The zinc-phosphate coated shock tubes ensure both an attractive finish and resistance to corrosion. Ride height can be adjusted via the robust trapezoidal threaded shock bodies, allowing for virtually infinite customization to suit either street driving or track use. The kit includes adjustment wrenches and is extensively tested in accordance with German TÜV standards. The front suspension can be lowered by 20-40mm, while the rear can be lowered by 15-30mm. Important considerations for installation include maintaining a minimum clearance of 5mm between tires and suspension/body parts; this may require the use of wheel spacers or bodywork modifications at the owner's expense. H&R is not responsible for damages resulting from lowering beyond the dimensions specified in the type approval.
