Helical Gear Differential

The Wavetrac differential represents modern engineering for superior performance in high-performance road cars that see track use. Unlike other gear-type differentials, the Wavetrac will not lose drive when one axle is unloaded, which frequently occurs in aggressive driving or track cornering scenarios. This differential's patented cam device prevents loss of drive during unloaded wheel conditions, such as bouncing over curbing. It generates internal load to maintain drive on the gripping wheel, resulting in more consistent power delivery through corners. This leads to a more predictable vehicle and faster overall performance. The unit is constructed with super strong 9310 alloy steel gears housed in case-hardened steel bodies and secured with ARP fasteners, ensuring durability and reliability. Key features include a patented Carbon Fibre Bias Plate for the pinions, which ensures consistent performance throughout the life of the differential, unlike other gear-type LSDs that run pinions on the housing. The patented Wave Profile eliminates drive-ability issues found in other gear-type ATB LSDs during near-zero load conditions. The Wavetrac differential requires custom machining of the stock ring gear, and an ARP ring gear bolt set is included (tighten to 12 ft lbs with Loctite 242 blue).
