It is optimized for use with either premium pump fuel or E85 ethanol blends, reaching its maximum rated output of 1,025 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 945 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,200 rpm when running E85. Technically robust, this engine utilizes a 3.0L IHI supercharger paired with a forged alloy steel crankshaft featuring a 90.9mm stroke and revised balancing. The internal construction includes upgraded connecting rods and forged alloy pistons designed with a top land cutback to enhance combustion sealing, alongside a 5150 alloy gun-drilled camshaft specifically configured for high-rpm performance. Note that exhaust manifolds are not included with the engine assembly. Installation of this crate engine is intended specifically for competition vehicles driven off-road or on tracks, or for motor vehicles manufactured prior to the 1976 model year.
