This design replaces restrictive factory exhaust manifolds, which are often built for cost and packaging rather than optimal airflow. By extending the primary tubes and optimizing exhaust scavenging, these headers allow HEMI engines to breathe more freely, leading to improved throttle response, acceleration, and overall performance, particularly in the mid-to-high RPM range. Muscle car enthusiasts often choose long-tube headers for their ability to deliver real-world acceleration improvements and a more pronounced presence on the road. SRT8 models, with their high-output HEMI engines, are noted to benefit the most. These headers are specifically designed for rear-wheel-drive (RWD) 5.7L and 6.1L Hemi engines in the Dodge Challenger (2008-2010 SRT8 only), Dodge Charger (2006-2010 SRT8 only), Dodge Magnum (2007-2008 R/T for 5.7L, 2006-2008 SRT8 for 6.1L), and Chrysler 300C/S (2010 300S 5.7L, 2010-2011 5.7L all trims, 2005-2010 SRT8 for 6.1L). It is critical to note that these headers will not fit all-wheel-drive (AWD) vehicles. While a tune is not strictly required, it is highly recommended for maximum power gains, optimized air/fuel ratios, and to prevent potential Check Engine Light (CEL) triggers related to post-catalytic converter O2 sensor readings. Owners may opt for an O2 spacer or a tuning solution to address this common occurrence. This product does not include bolts or hardware; new OEM-quality gaskets are recommended for installation.
