The BMC Performance Air Filter is engineered to provide a significant increase in airflow compared to standard paper filters, drawing on technology and materials used in Formula 1 racing. This enhanced air permeability allows for the full exploitation of engine power. The filtering element is crafted from special cotton gauze, treated with low-viscosity oil to maximize air permeability while maintaining efficient filtration. Construction involves a single-piece soft rubber molding process, known as "Full Moulding," which eliminates welded joints and potential weak points. This advanced technology ensures a robust and reliable performance. The mesh is made from alloy with an epoxy coating, offering protection against petrol fumes and oxidation from air humidity. This filter is designed for specific Mercedes-Benz M278 and M157 Biturbo engines, including models such as the CL (C216), E-Class (W212), G-Class (W463), M-Class (W166), S-Class (W221), and CLS (C218) series, typically requiring two filters per vehicle.
