High-Capacity Oil Pan

The FVD Brombacher Motorsport Oil Pan is engineered to protect Porsche 986, 987.1, 996, and 997.1 engines from oil starvation and aeration, particularly during sustained high-G cornering experienced in spirited street driving or track use. Stock sumps can allow oil to move away from the pickup or ingest air, leading to pressure drops and reduced pump efficiency, which can cause catastrophic engine damage. This oil pan integrates X51-style baffling and increases the oil capacity by ¾ qt (0.6 L), effectively reducing oil movement and preventing aeration. The design maintains street ground clearance while providing crucial protection for the engine under demanding conditions. Manufactured in Germany, it features integrated cooling fins and an extended pickup for consistent oil supply. A key design aspect is its true bolt-on nature, allowing for easy installation without modifying the factory pan. Serviceability is also prioritized, as the pan can be removed for maintenance without disturbing additional plumbing or skid plates. The baffle doors are made from high-temperature polymer, which offers superior flexibility, vibration resistance, and self-lubricating properties compared to metal alternatives that can seize or bind under heat and lateral forces. This oil pan is specifically designed for the Boxster 986, Boxster-Cayman 987.1, and 911 Carrera 996 and 997.1 models manufactured between 1998 and 2008. While it provides enhanced oil management and protection, FVD Brombacher also recommends an installation kit and a magnetic drain plug, and offers a secondary oil pump solution for dedicated track cars with M97.01 engines.
