The BBR High Performance SkyActiv Camshaft Set represents an exclusive performance upgrade developed by BBR and manufactured by a leading European valvetrain specialist. These camshafts are the result of extensive development, famously used in BBR's 'Super 200' MX-5 ND upgrade. Designed as direct replacements for the stock Mazda camshafts, this set features unique lift and timing specifications. The maximum valve lift is 10.75mm on the inlet side and 9.75mm on the exhaust side. The full range of mechanical camshaft (VVT) functionality is retained, while maintaining a safe valve-to-piston clearance of 1.5mm (compared to the standard 1.6mm). This package includes both inlet and exhaust steel billet camshafts, as well as custom-manufactured conical valve springs which eliminate the need for separate replacement retainers. With a suitable ECU remap, these camshafts are capable of achieving up to 195BHP on the MX-5 ND model, with significant gains noted from 3000 rpm upwards.
