The AAE High Pressure Fuel Pump is engineered as a direct replacement for your BMW's original fuel pump, addressing common performance issues in N54 and early N55 engines. A failing HPFP can lead to significant drivability problems such as hard starting, hesitation, misfires, loss of power, or even leave your vehicle inoperable. This component is crucial for gasoline direct injection (GDI) engines, as it boosts fuel pressure to extremely high levels, enabling precise fuel injection into the combustion chamber. This process enhances fuel atomization, leading to improved efficiency and power output. The HPFP is typically driven by the camshaft and works in conjunction with a low-pressure fuel pump. Over time, wear and tear, contamination, or internal failures can degrade its performance. This fuel pump is compatible with a range of BMW models, including the 1 Series M, 135i, 335i, 335i xDrive, 335is, 535i, 535xi, 740i, X1, X3, X5, X6, and Z4 35i. It replaces original BMW part numbers 13517616170, 13517585655, 13517594943, 13517596123, 13517613933, and 13517616446. Note that some vendors may include a refundable core charge with the purchase.
