High-Pressure Fuel Pump

The Genuine MINI High Pressure Fuel Pump (HPFP) is a critical component for modern gasoline direct injection (GDI) engines. It precisely controls fuel pressure, boosting it to over 2,000 psi for direct injection into the combustion chamber, which enhances fuel atomization, engine efficiency, and power output. This pump is driven by the camshaft and operates alongside a low-pressure fuel pump. Symptoms of a failing HPFP can include hard starting, engine hesitation, misfires, loss of power under load, illuminated check engine lights, lean/rich diagnostic trouble codes, and decreased fuel economy. This Genuine PSA high-pressure fuel pump is manufactured in the Czech Republic and comes with the necessary sealing o-ring for installation on the cylinder head. This high-pressure fuel pump is designed for the "Prince" 4-cylinder engines, specifically those with the N14 engine and the Continental version of the HPFP. It is compatible with various Mini Cooper S and John Cooper Works models from 2007 through 2012. Importantly, this part **will not fit N18 turbo engines**. Installation may require specific tools, including a 12mm flare wrench, hose pliers, a T30 socket, and a 1/4" drive torque wrench. It is recommended to consider replacing mounting bolts, as they often come with threadlocker. Additionally, the fuel lines associated with the high-pressure system are considered one-time-use items and may require replacement, with specific torque specifications for the high-pressure line.
