The Milodon 16271 is a high-volume mechanical water pump constructed with a new GMB casting and finished in natural aluminum. It utilizes heavy-duty bearings and shafts for durability and reliable operation. Key specifications include a 5/8-inch pilot diameter, a 1.75-inch inlet size, and a hub height of 4-13/16 inches. The natural finish complements various engine aesthetics. This water pump is specifically designed for AMC V8 engines, including the 290, 343, and 401 models, and covers the 1973-1991 model years. It is important to note that this water pump does not fit the AMC 304 V8 engine. Attempts to install it on a 304 V8 have resulted in impeller contact with the timing cover, preventing proper rotation and installation. Milodon backs this water pump with a 180-day warranty.
