High Volume Intake System

The PRL Motorsports High Volume Intake System is a meticulously engineered performance upgrade for the Honda Civic Type-R FL5 and Acura Integra Type-S DE5 models. Designed to maximize airflow and power output, this system replaces restrictive factory components with a high-flow 6" cone filter and a custom-molded HDPE air box. PRL Motorsports identified a significant restriction in the factory intake system, particularly with the hood closed, which can lead to a substantial loss of horsepower. To combat this, the High Volume Intake System incorporates a secondary duct that significantly increases the opening size, eliminating air starvation and achieving a documented 133% increase in airflow compared to the stock unit. This enhanced airflow allows the engine to breathe more freely, directly translating to increased power. The design prioritizes both performance and drivability. PRL has engineered the intake to maintain factory-like fuel trims, ensuring smooth operation and preventing potential drivability issues. The use of a stepped silicone design throughout the intake tract ensures seamless transitions between all components, minimizing turbulence and further reducing intake resistance. Crucially, this system does not require any ECU calibration for installation, simplifying the upgrade process. This product is 50 State Legal and CARB Approved with EO D-878-8. It fits all 2023+ Acura Integra DE5 Type-S models, including RHD and International variants, provided it connects to the factory turbocharger inlet pipe. However, it is not legal for sale or use in California on any emission-controlled motor vehicle.
