The FlowKooler Hi-Flow Mechanical Water Pump (1681) is engineered to combat low-speed heating issues by doubling coolant flow rates at idle and low RPMs. Its design includes a CNC precision-machined impeller with an increased vane count, larger diameter, tighter clearances, shrouding, and porting. These features contribute to dropping engine temperatures by up to 30 degrees, increasing block pressure to prevent hot spots, and preventing steam pocket formation. The impeller is further protected from electrolysis and corrosion by a military-grade Type II Class II anodized surface coating. Constructed from aluminum with a natural, anodized finish, this water pump boasts a 16-blade CNC aluminum impeller. It operates with a clockwise rotation and features a 5 9/16" fan hub working height, a 0.625 in. pilot diameter, and a 1.88 in. inlet diameter. The pump is sold individually and includes a gasket and a backing plate. Note that for 1965 applications, it is compatible with vehicles that have an iron water pump and a 5.563 in. hub height.
