The HKS HIPERMAX Series MAX IV SP coilovers are engineered as a high-performance suspension upgrade for the Nissan Fairlady Z Z34. This kit utilizes a mono-tube damper design, which allows for more precise and consistent damping control, contributing to a lower center of gravity and a more stable ride. The suspension offers 30 levels of damping force adjustment, enabling drivers to fine-tune their setup for street driving, winding roads, highways, or track conditions. Key specifications include front spring rates of 14kg with an adjustable lowering range of 0mm to -33mm (standard -14mm) and rear spring rates of 16kg with an adjustable lowering range of 0mm to -51mm (standard -18mm). The kit incorporates features like dust boots to protect the damper shafts from debris and PNE Coating for enhanced durability and easier ride height adjustments. Additionally, it uses a larger M Shaft for firmer damping even in short stroke ranges and pillow ball upper mounts for sharper steering response. The use of aluminum for brackets, ride height adjusters, and lock nuts helps reduce unsprung weight, though this feature may not be applicable to all vehicles. It is important to note that the compatibility with NISMO versions has not been confirmed, and the rear setup is a separate type. The reduction of unsprung weight through the use of aluminum components is a design consideration, though it may not apply universally to all vehicle applications.
