HLT3-8620 High Lift LS Camshaft

The GPI HLT3-8620 High Lift LS Camshaft is an enhanced, durability-focused version of the popular HLT3 camshaft, engineered with an 8620 hardened core. This upgrade provides superior wear resistance, improved longevity, and added strength for aggressive performance applications. Designed specifically for 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L, and 6.2L GM LS engines, this camshaft delivers a commanding performance idle and a robust mid- to upper-RPM powerband that kicks in around 2,750 RPM. The 8620 hardened core significantly increases surface hardness while maintaining ductile core strength, resulting in improved lobe wear resistance, a stronger overall camshaft structure, and a longer service life, especially under aggressive spring pressures. This makes it an excellent choice for high-performance or hot rod applications. This camshaft is well-suited for stock bottom-end engines and offers even greater potential when combined with high-flow intake and exhaust systems and gear ratio upgrades. For proper operation, the HLT3-8620 requires the installation of headers and an upgraded stall converter. The cam specifications include 220/224 duration, .629/.629 lift, a 111 LSA, and an ICL of +4, operating in the 2,750+ RPM range.
