Description

The HM290 Manual Transmission is a remanufactured 5-speed unit specifically designed for 1993-1995 GM 1500 and 2500 vans equipped with 4x4 drivetrains. This transmission features a Getrag HM290 core with an integral bell housing, a single rail internal shift mechanism, and an external slave cylinder. It is built to meet OEM specifications, with Zumbrota Drivetrain conducting three distinct quality inspections throughout the remanufacturing process. These inspections include pre-inspection for case cracks and excessive wear, in-process checks to ensure component parts meet OEM standards, and a final post-build inspection. Internal components undergo 100% inspection, including checks for gear wear, mainshaft straightness, and synchronizer testing. To ensure reliable performance, all transmissions are dynamometer tested and run through numerous real-life scenarios before shipment.
