The ATK HP99C is a complete Chevy 350 Vortec crate engine, rated at 290 horsepower and 375 ft-lbs of torque. This engine features an OE roller block (2-bolt main, 1-piece seal, suitable for 1996-2000 applications), a reground OE crankshaft (external balance rear, internal balance front), OE powder metal 5.7" rods, and hypereutectic pistons for a 9.4:1 compression ratio. It utilizes a hydraulic roller camshaft with specs of 191/194 @.050, .414" intake/.428" exhaust lift, and a 111LSA. The cylinder heads are Vortec cast iron with 64cc chambers and 1.94"/1.50" valves, complemented by stamped steel 1.5 ratio rocker arms. It includes a Melling STD volume oil pump, internally balanced balancer, and externally balanced flexplate/flywheel. The engine is equipped with an ATK HP dual plane intake manifold, HEI distributor (iron gear), OE long water pump, and a Quick Fuel Brawler 670CFM electric choke/vacuum secondary carburetor. It requires an electric fuel pump as there are no mechanical fuel pump provisions. Recommended oil is conventional/non-synthetic 10W30, with a timing of 32-34 degrees and 91+ octane fuel.
