During its development, Verus aimed to integrate with the OEM hood, thereby reducing costs, complexity, and overall weight compared to aftermarket carbon fiber hoods. This design ensures the hood retains its structural integrity over time. Constructed from 1.6mm thick 5052 aluminum with a CFD-optimized design, this kit is CNC laser cut for precision. It features stainless steel flush clinch studs and serrated nuts, allowing for easy removal of the vents for cleaning. The kit includes wickers to enhance air evacuation and is available in a raw aluminum finish or a durable black powdercoat. The installation process involves cutting into the OEM hood, with a cut-out template provided for accuracy. The louvers and wickers can be detached for maintenance using the included hardware kit. Verus Engineering manufactures this hood louver kit in the U.S.A. This hood louver kit is specifically designed for the 2015-2019 Subaru WRX and STI models. It offers a slight increase in front-end downforce as a secondary benefit.
