Overview

The Ford Performance Hot Rod Performance Camshafts are designed to give your 4.6L 3-valve Mustang an aggressive, lopey idle reminiscent of 60s muscle cars. These camshafts were engineered by Ford designers for increased horsepower and durability.

Engineered to be safe with the stock production valve train, these cams are compatible with production springs, followers, and lash adjusters up to 6800rpm. They increase lift from the stock 11mm to 12mm and feature intake duration of 221 degrees and exhaust duration of 240 degrees at 0.050" lift, with a 110-degree lobe separation.

The Ford Performance Hot Rod Performance Camshafts are engineered to deliver an aggressive, lopey idle characteristic of classic 60s muscle cars, while also significantly boosting horsepower for your 4.6L 3-valve Mustang. These cams are designed by the same engineers who developed the stock Ford cams, ensuring a powerful yet durable upgrade. Engineered for safety and reliability, these Hot Rod Performance Camshafts are compatible with stock production valve springs, followers, and lash adjusters, supporting operation up to 6800rpm. The camshafts increase valve lift from the stock 11mm to 12mm. They feature a duration at 0.050" lift of 221 degrees for the intake and 240 degrees for the exhaust, with a lobe separation of 110 degrees. Ford dyno testing indicates potential horsepower gains of up to 50hp with a stock intake manifold and CNC heads, or approximately 30hp with long tube headers and a cold air kit. To fully realize the power potential and ensure proper operation, a custom tune with a Mustang Handheld Tuner is recommended to reprogram the vehicle's computer (ECU). Installation of these camshafts requires mechanical expertise and is estimated to take approximately one day. The application is specifically for the 2005-2010 Mustang GT 4.6L 3V engine.
