The Howards Cams Rattler 188005-09 is a hydraulic roller camshaft engineered for high performance street applications. It is designed to provide a noticeable improvement in power delivery within its optimal RPM range of 1800 to 5600. This camshaft boasts a .525 intake lift and .535 exhaust lift, with duration figures at 0.050 lift of 227 degrees intake and 235 degrees exhaust. The advertised durations are 280 degrees for intake and 288 degrees for exhaust, with a lobe separation angle of 109 degrees and a firing order of 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2. An important note for installation is that stock (O.E.) valve springs cannot be used with this camshaft, necessitating the use of compatible aftermarket valve springs. The intended use is high performance street, and it is recommended for use with a stock converter and appropriate gearing (1800+ & gears) for optimal performance.
