HPFP Upgrade for N54 / N55 Engines

Designed for N54 and early N55 engines, this unit directly tackles the common issue of insufficient fuel delivery at higher power levels, where the stock HPFP struggles to keep pace with fuel consumption. Utilizing a planetary gear system similar to those found in automatic transmissions, the Helix increases the rotational speed of the HPFP's shaft. This results in more delivery strokes per cycle, thereby boosting the pump's displacement volume and rail pressure, especially crucial when tuning for increased horsepower or using E85 fuel mixes. The unit is designed to support up to 600whp on full E85 or 750+whp on E60 blends. Spool Performance has conducted extensive testing to address longevity concerns associated with the Continental HPFP. Their analysis indicates that overdriving the pump with the Helix unit does not exacerbate common failure modes, such as Inlet Metering Valve actuation issues or Limp Home Mode bypass valve leaks. Physical examinations of high-mileage units showed minimal wear on critical components, and oil analysis revealed negligible metal content.
