HPS 5.0 Front Brake Pads

The Hawk HB563B.656 brake pads are part of the HPS 5.0 (High Performance Street 5.0) line, utilizing a Ferro-Carbon compound engineered to deliver superior stopping power and pedal feel for street-driven vehicles. This compound combines aerospace design principles with motorsports braking technology. It offers aggressive torque, high rates of deceleration, and smooth, predictable control. The HPS 5.0 compound is designed to provide shorter stopping distances and enhanced performance during heavy braking conditions, all while maintaining street-car friendly characteristics and not compromising the vehicle's ABS system. Key characteristics of the HPS 5.0 compound include aggressive torque, great rotor and pad wear life, smooth and predictable control, high rates of deceleration, consistent release characteristics, and an operating temperature range of 100-750°F, with an optimal range of 100-550°F. While the HPS 5.0 compound offers increased brake torque and operating temperatures compared to the standard Hawk HPS compound, and can withstand light track use with proper cool-down periods, it is not designed for prolonged race sessions at high temperatures. It will produce more brake dust than Hawk Ceramic and standard HPS pads, but is cleaner than most OEM pads.
