The Hawk Performance HB150F.555 brake pads utilize the HPS (High Performance Street) compound, renowned for significantly enhancing stopping power on street-driven vehicles. This unique Ferro-Carbon formula is derived from severe-duty friction technology used in aerospace and motorsports, providing a higher coefficient of friction than stock pads. Expect a 20-40% increase in stopping power and improved resistance to brake fade. These pads offer a smooth braking feel, consistent release characteristics, and are gentle on rotors, leading to extended pad life. With an optimal operating temperature range of 100-500 Deg F and an upper end of 700 Deg F, they can even handle light track use, provided proper cool-down procedures are followed. However, the HPS compound is not intended for prolonged race sessions at high temperatures. It's important to note that all Hawk Performance compounds, including the HPS, are designed exclusively for use with iron/metal rotors. They are not compatible with carbon ceramic rotors.
