The Hawk HB387F.547 brake pads utilize the High Performance Street (HPS) compound, designed to significantly enhance the stopping power of your street-driven vehicle. This advanced Ferro-Carbon formula is derived from Aerospace and Motorsports severe-duty friction technology, providing a higher coefficient of friction than OEM pads. This translates to a 20-40% increase in stopping power and improved resistance to brake fade, ensuring a more durable and responsive braking system. The HPS compound offers a smooth braking feel and is excellent for spirited driving, while also being gentle on pads and rotors with consistent release characteristics. With an optimal operating temperature range of 100-500 Deg F and an upper end of 800-900 Deg F, these pads can handle light track use with proper cool-down procedures. It's important to note that the HPS compound is not a dedicated race compound and cannot withstand prolonged high-temperature track sessions.
