Hybrid Turbocharger

The GTD1756vrk turbocharger is a performance upgrade for 1.9 and 2.0 TDI engines, targeting power outputs up to 240-250 HP and 34 PSI boost. It is built upon a turbocharger from a BMW B47D20 engine, converted to vacuum actuation and fitted with a VAG 1.9TDI/2.0TDI exhaust manifold. This hybrid unit utilizes Garrett ceramic ball bearings for rapid spool and features a 5th generation Variable Nozzle Turbine system, which enhances airflow, increases peak torque at lower RPMs, and reduces manifold pressures at high RPMs. Key specifications include a 56mm 6+6 compressor wheel, a 2.5" compressor housing inlet, a 2" outlet, and a 2.75" downpipe diameter. The unit is 100% oil-cooled and designed for high Exhaust Gas Temperatures (EGTs). An EGR deleted manifold is integrated. This turbocharger is not a direct bolt-on and requires further modifications to the vehicle's setup. Recommended supporting modifications include a tune, a braided oil feed line with an oil restrictor, an upgraded MAP sensor, and adjustments to the fuel, exhaust, and cooling systems. An installation kit, including an oil return line, oil restrictor, and V-band downpipe flange, is provided. The turbo comes with a 12-month warranty and is manufactured in the EU from new quality components, with the turbine and compressor housings being remanufactured. Fitment considerations are important. For vehicles with engine swaps or specific engine bay configurations, the turbo may not fit if mounted at the bottom of the manifold. In such cases, a top-mounted option can be selected at checkout.
