The Classic Performance Products (CPP) Show Stopper HydraStop Kit is engineered to upgrade the braking system of 1973-1987 Chevy and GMC trucks. This hydraulic brake assist system replaces traditional vacuum boosters, which can be insufficient for high-performance engines with aggressive camshafts that produce low vacuum. Instead, the HydraStop unit utilizes pressure from the vehicle's existing power steering pump to deliver robust and reliable braking assistance. This comprehensive kit is designed as a direct bolt-in upgrade, requiring no modifications to the firewall. It includes a brand-new hydroboost unit, a billet aluminum direct mount bracket (polished finish), and a chrome Corvette-style master cylinder with a 1.125-inch bore and a smooth flat top lid. The system also comes with stainless steel high-pressure hoses, rubber return hoses, AN6 fittings, a chrome accumulator cover, and all necessary hardware for installation. An adjustable proportioning block is also included for fine-tuning brake bias. The HydraStop system is engineered to provide up to 1800 psi at the wheels, significantly enhancing overall braking power and ensuring dependable, repeatable stopping performance, which is crucial for trucks that have been modified with disc conversions, lowered suspension, or modern drivetrains. The unit is compatible with both manual and power steering applications, though it requires a power steering pump with a minimum flow rate of 2.25 GPM and 1200 PSI.
