The Elgin Industries E-1029-P camshaft is a hydraulic flat tappet performance camshaft engineered for a range of Chevrolet Small Block V8 applications, including the 262, 265, 267, 283, 302, and 305 cubic inch engines. Constructed from durable cast iron, this camshaft is designed to operate effectively within an RPM range of 2000 to 4800 RPM, providing a noticeable increase in performance for daily drivers and street performance vehicles. This camshaft features a .443 intake duration and a .443 exhaust duration with .050 lift. It also specifies a seat pressure of 280 lbs. A key characteristic is its 'No Exhaust Centerline,' which is a specification relevant for optimal valve timing and engine tuning. The .427 inch width and .225-.235 inch depth are also part of its precise engineering. Elgin Industries states this camshaft is compatible with engines from 1966 to 1997, including specific mentions of 262 CID (4.3L) GAS engines from 1975-76. A kit including 16 straight rocker arms and 16 premium fasteners may also be available for this camshaft model.
