The Johnson 2356 is a set of aftermarket hydraulic lifters designed for higher horsepower Hemi applications. These lifters feature axle oiling and a reduced pushrod cup depth, retaining .143 total travel. They are designed as a direct replacement for Gen 3 Hemi engines and are non-MDS.

The Johnson 2356 is a set of aftermarket hydraulic lifters engineered to withstand higher horsepower demands in Hemi engines. This specific design incorporates a pushrod cup that has been moved down by .195 inches, while still maintaining a total travel of .143 inches. The recommended pre-load for these lifters is .035 +/- .010 inches. For optimal performance, especially on aluminum blocks, a longer pre-load of up to .012-.015 inches may be utilized. These Johnson lifters are non-MDS and serve as a direct replacement for Gen 3 Hemi engines. If your vehicle is equipped with MDS (Multi-Displacement System) and you are transitioning to these non-MDS lifters to accommodate larger camshafts or higher loads, you will need to disable the MDS operation in your vehicle's calibration. Additionally, it is important to note that these lifters typically require different pushrod lengths than stock; a pushrod measuring tool is recommended for accurate fitting. These lifters do not come with lifter trays.
