I-Beam Connecting Rod Set

Each rod is custom-crafted using the latest CAD and FEA software, optimizing designs for specific applications rather than relying on resized generic patterns. Constructed from forged 4340 chrome moly steel, these rods are multi-stage heat-treated for dimensional stability and fatigue life. They feature IE spec ARP 2000 rod bolts with an "IE" stamp for authenticity and are honed to exacting tolerances within 250 millionths of an inch for excellent bearing reliability. The forced pin oiling (rifle drilling) ensures longevity of the wrist pin, and each set is balanced to within +/- 1 gram. These rods have been tested to support over 1000 BHP on 4-cylinder engines. Installation-wise, these rods are delivered in a ready-to-install condition, though other engine machine work may be necessary depending on the rebuild. New connecting rod bearings are recommended for installation. The average weight of a single rod with bolts is 574 grams. For high-RPM applications exceeding 8500 RPM, upgrading to ARP 625+ bolts is suggested. Rifle drilling is not strictly required but is recommended for daily drivers and high-mileage applications to extend wrist pin and bushing life. The IE Tuscan rods are application-specific, with features optimized for each engine's unique demands, focusing on a stable platform for the connecting rod bearing to enhance reliability.
