IAT Sensor Extension Kit

The Halltech black Kevlar® heat barrier sleeve, measuring 18"-24", is designed to completely insulate Halltech intake tubes. Its primary function is to isolate the Intake Air Temperature (IAT) flow from hot underhood air, thereby helping to maintain cooler intake air temperatures. Depending on the specific intake system, the sleeve's length may be sufficient to also cover the throttle body hose and/or filter neck. The sleeve is constructed with 2-ply seamless construction for maximum heat resistance. The Kevlar fiber material offers high tensile strength relative to its weight and will not melt, ignite, or conduct electricity. A customer reported that after 30 minutes of normal driving and a hot run to 130 mph with a 70°F ambient temperature, IATs remained at 70°F throughout the test. Even after a 60-second idle directly following the 130 mph run, IATs only increased to 78°F (+8°F over ambient) before returning to 72°F after additional driving.
