IGN1A Ignition Kit

The MaxSpark Plug & Play IGN1A Ignition Kit is designed as a complete, bolt-on ignition upgrade for your Mazda Miata, suitable for naturally aspirated, high-compression, or forced-induction setups. This system provides a significantly more powerful spark compared to DIY conversions, with over 100 mJ of spark energy per event, nearly double that of leading competitors. It aims to eliminate spark blowout, improve idle quality, and enhance throttle response. It also includes a Magnecor Plug Wire Set engineered specifically for the kit, a waterproof relay and fuse for consistent voltage, and all necessary hardware. The smart coils are capable of over 100 mJ spark energy, support sequential or wasted spark triggering, and feature durable, heat-resistant connectors. Installation is designed to be straightforward, with an estimated time of ~1 hour and a beginner skill level. The harness is color-coded and labeled for ease of installation, and the wiring is routed to prevent voltage loss and take load off the factory wiring. The kit is compatible with most Miata strut bars, including factory, FM, and Carbing bars. ECU requirements vary by model year: 1990–early 1995 models require a standalone ECU (and lack factory tach support), while 1995.5–2005 models are compatible with both factory and aftermarket ECUs. Sequential coil control requires an aftermarket ECU and two additional wires. It's important to note that this kit will not fit an MSM with a factory strut bar installed without modification.
