The R8 ignition coil serves as a direct replacement for a variety of Volkswagen and Audi engines, addressing issues like misfires, rough idle, and intermittent hesitation. This push-in style coil is frequently installed during routine maintenance, often alongside new spark plugs, and is also compatible with select Audi 3.0T and 3.2L V6 applications. This ignition coil is specifically designed for compatibility with VW/Audi 2.0T TSI (EA888 Gen 1 & Gen 2), 2.0T FSI, and 2.5L 5-cylinder engines. It replaces part numbers including 06E 905 115, 06E 905 115 A, B, C, D, E, and F. Please note that this coil is **not compatible with EA888 Gen 3 engines**, which utilize a bolt-down style ignition coil. To ensure proper installation and function, associated parts such as the ignition coil electrical connector (part number 4B0 973 724) or a repair kit are available. Specialized tools like an ignition coil puller kit are also recommended for easier removal and installation. Diagnostic resources for misfires on 2.0T TSI and FSI engines are also provided.
