Ignition Conversion Module

The Hondata Coil Pack Retrofit (CPR) kit facilitates the integration of modern 'coil on plug' ignition coils into vehicles equipped with older, distributor-based ignition systems. Upgrading to the Hondata CPR offers several key advantages. It allows for extremely accurate spark timing, enabling precise ignition control. With each spark plug having its own dedicated coil, there is an increase in spark energy, which is particularly beneficial for high compression, high RPM, and high boost applications. This enhanced spark energy can allow for a larger spark plug gap, potentially leading to increased engine power. Additionally, the CPR eliminates the need for spark plug wires, which can deteriorate over time, and results in a cleaner, less cluttered engine bay. To utilize the Hondata CPR kit, several other components are required. These include a Hondata S300 equipped OBD1 ECU, four OEM Honda ignition coils compatible with your specific engine (K-series coils for B-series engines, and D17A coils for D-series engines are recommended), and a method to retain the coils in place, such as the factory spark plug wire cover.
