The Pertronix Ignitor electronic ignition system replaces traditional mechanical breaker points and troublesome factory electronic ignitions with a reliable, maintenance-free module. Designed for Triumph Spitfire MK1 to MK4 1300 models manufactured between 1962 and 1974, this unit is specifically engineered for negative earthed vehicles equipped with a Delco D200 or D204 four-cylinder distributor. Technical performance benefits include a 2:1 improvement in current fall time, which increases coil output and delivers twice the voltage to the spark plugs compared to standard points. This upgrade contributes to improved horsepower, better fuel economy, and extended spark plug life. The system utilizes rotating cobalt magnets to trigger a Hall Effect integrated circuit, ensuring stable timing without the need for manual adjustments. The module features an epoxy-molded housing that is impervious to dirt, oil, grease, and moisture, making it highly durable under engine bay conditions. The "stealth" design installs entirely inside the existing distributor cap, eliminating the need for bulky external "black boxes" and keeping the engine compartment clutter-free. This unit is compatible with most multi-spark CD ignition systems and is available for various voltage and grounding configurations.
