Overview

The Pertronix Ignitor Electronic Ignition System is a self-contained conversion kit that replaces mechanical points in your distributor. It requires no external control boxes and installs easily with just two wires, allowing you to retain your stock advance curve without permanent modifications.

This electronic ignition uses a Hall effect sensor that remains impervious to dirt, moisture, and vibration. It helps maintain engine timing and firing accuracy while reducing spark scatter across the full RPM range.

The Pertronix Ignitor Electronic Ignition System provides a reliable, maintenance-free alternative to traditional mechanical ignition points. By replacing points, it ensures your engine timing remains accurate over longer periods and is unaffected by distributor shaft wear. This ignition kit utilizes a robust Hall effect sensor that is resistant to environmental factors like moisture, dust, and vibration. By maintaining firing accuracy to within 1/4 degree, it provides a more stable spark and consistent performance compared to standard contact-based systems. Compatibility requires selecting the correct unit based on the specific Lucas model number stamped on your distributor housing near the vacuum advance. Please note: this system is NOT for use with solid core ignition wires. You are required to use resistance core ignition wires or resistor-type spark plugs for proper operation of this ignition system.
