The IHI VZ21 turbocharger, also known as the RHB31, is a compact unit engineered for small displacement engines ranging from 125cc to 600cc. Its specifications include a compressor exducer of 37.1mm and an inducer of 24.2mm, with a compressor trim of 42.5 and an A/R ratio of 0.7. This turbocharger is designed for efficient operation, employing both water and oil for its cooling system, and features an internal wastegate capable of managing boost up to 15psi. This turbo is suitable for various small engine applications, including snowmobiles, motorcycles, ATVs, and scooters. It is capable of supporting horsepower outputs from 23HP up to 100HP. The VZ21 is comparable to the IHI RHF3 turbo and has been noted for its ability to support between 30-35hp safely in certain configurations. Applications have included engines like the Suzuki Alto's YA1 F6AT, and it has been historically used on Suzuki Kei-class trucks and Jimny 4WD vehicles with engines such as the 797cc F8A.
