Illumina 5-Way Adjustable Rear Shock Absorber

The Tokico BE2740 is a 5-way adjustable rear shock absorber from the Illumina Series, offering a significant upgrade for your Nissan 300ZX Z31. This adjustability allows you to fine-tune your suspension for different driving conditions. For daily driving, a lower setting provides a smoother, more comfortable ride. When you're ready for spirited driving or track use, you can increase the valving to create a stiffer platform, enhancing cornering stability and responsiveness. The shock absorber itself is built for durability and performance, enabling you to extract the best handling characteristics from your vehicle. The kit is compatible with both non-turbo and turbo Z31 models, and it fits vehicles whether they originally featured adjustable suspension or not. Installation involves several steps, including safely lifting the vehicle, removing the rear wheels, and carefully accessing the upper and lower shock mount bolts. It's recommended to have a set of specific metric sockets, a breaker bar, torque wrench, and other common tools on hand. During installation, it's important to transfer the top mounts from your old shocks to the new Tokico units. For cars with adjustable suspension, inspect the rubber in the shock mount for any signs of cracking; if damaged, it's crucial to use a new washer for the top mount to prevent the shock from pushing through the mount under increased load from the new, healthy shock. If you are installing these shocks into a Turbo Car with Adjustable Suspension, an additional 108A Installation Kit is required. Please note that Tokico Illumina shocks are no longer available, and alternatives such as KYB KG5787A Gas-A-Just Monotube or Koni Sport Shocks 26-1248SPORT may be considered.
