IM500 Turbocharger for B46/B48 Engines

The IPOS IM500 Turbocharger Upgrade is engineered for B46 and B48 engines, targeting racers seeking maximum performance. This turbo is the largest and most powerful offered by IPOS Motorsport, delivering a strong top-end pull, though it does exhibit a noticeably laggier spool compared to stock. It is designed to work on a stock motor without issues, but for Gen 1 motors, building the engine is recommended to fully utilize the turbo's potential. Key features of the IM500 include resized exhaust (.64 AR) and compressor (.57 AR) housings, an optimized manifold exhaust path for improved flow, and larger compressor and turbine wheels. It incorporates a dual ceramic ball bearing system and is VSR machine balanced for optimal performance and longevity. The unit reuses the OEM wastegate and maintains the OEM intake and charge pipe locations for simplified integration. This turbo upgrade is compatible with both Gen 1 B4x and B4xTU engines. Specific vehicle fitment includes the 230i, 330i, 430i, 220i, 320i, 420i, and 2.0 Supra. IPOS Motorsport offers optional compressor housing modifications, such as the T51R Mod or Compressor Holes, to alter the turbo's acoustic tone at an additional cost and build time. An optional installation kit, which includes essential OEM gaskets and seals, is also highly recommended for a smooth installation process. The IM500 comes with a 1 Year Limited Warranty for Manufacturer Defects. It is a brand-new, recast turbo, eliminating the need for a core return. Lead time for the turbos is typically 2-5 weeks. Please note that due to variations in aftermarket intakes, the plastic inlet pipe has been discontinued, and a 3-inch rubber coupler is recommended.
