IMS 2.2" Monotube Shock Absorber

The Dobinsons IMS 2.2″ Monotube Shock absorber is engineered for demanding off-road and overlanding applications, offering enhanced performance and durability. Constructed with a substantial 2.2″ (56mm) shock body for increased oil volume and improved cooling, this shock features a monotube IFP (Internal Floating Piston) design that effectively separates oil and gas for reliable damping performance. It incorporates a high-flow, CNC-machined race piston (50mm or 60mm) and a carbon-fiber/PTFE composite wear band to minimize friction and extend service life. The shock body is made from 3mm thick DOM tubing, honed to precise tolerances for maximum strength, and features an adjustable spring seat crafted from T6 6061 aluminum. The engineered damping is specifically tuned to balance comfort, control, and off-road capability. It is critical to note that vehicles equipped with Nivomat (self-leveling) rear shocks or aluminum upper mounts are not compatible with the IMS29-50733 rear shocks. To ensure proper fitment for these vehicles, the IMS29-50735-MOUNT top mount with a bump stop is required. Compatibility is for Jeep Grand Cherokee WK2 models from 2011 to 2022. Vehicles with Quadralift suspension are also not compatible.
