Description

The Dobinsons IMS 2.2″ Monotube Strut is designed for serious off-roaders and overlanders who demand maximum performance and durability from their suspension. These struts feature a robust 2.2-inch (56mm) heavy-duty shock body, providing increased oil volume and improved cooling efficiency. The Internal Floating Piston (IFP) monotube design ensures consistent damping by separating oil and gas, which helps resist fade even in extreme conditions, on washboard trails, during towing, or during long overlanding trips. Constructed with premium materials, the IMS struts boast a high-flow CNC-machined race piston (available in 50mm or 60mm sizes) for superior performance. A carbon-fiber/PTFE composite wear band reduces friction and extends the lifespan of the strut. The 3mm thick DOM body tubing is honed to tight tolerances for exceptional strength, while the adjustable spring seat is crafted from T6 6061 aluminum. Furthermore, the EDP coating provides excellent corrosion resistance, ensuring long-term durability. These struts are engineered with tuned damping specifically for comfort, control, and off-road capability, delivering a smooth ride and reliable performance across various terrains. They are designed as a direct, bolt-on replacement for compatible vehicles, simplifying installation.
