IMS 2.2" Monotube Strut

The Dobinsons IMS59-50220C is a 2.2" IMS monotube strut engineered for superior performance in demanding off-road conditions. Its fully rebuildable and re-valvable design, coupled with a race-inspired hi-flow CNC 6061 billet alloy piston and a 50mm bore, provides exceptional handling and control. Constructed with a heavy-duty single-piece lower leg and a 56mm/2.2" body diameter, this strut boasts enormous oil capacity for superior heat dissipation and fade resistance. The heavy-duty 3-stage FKM HNBR sealing system ensures ultimate reliability, while the EDP surface protection offers corrosion resistance. The micropolished, hard-chromed, and heat-treated shock shaft adds to its off-road durability. This strut is designed as a direct, bolt-on replacement for ease of fitment. It is specifically designed for Extended Length and +1" Lift applications. The product description notes that coil springs and top mounts are not included, and advises that the coil seat should be set at 226mm (8.89") from the strut bushing eye. Incorrect setup can lead to damage to the shocks, springs, and vehicle. Dobinsons Extended Length and +1" Lift Front IMS Struts are compatible with 2005-2019 Toyota Tacoma 4x4, 2006-2009 Toyota FJ Cruiser, 2003-2009 4th Gen Toyota 4Runner, and Lexus GX470. When used on these vehicles, the struts add 1" of lift regardless of the coil used, due to a taller coil seat. They offer longer extended and compressed lengths, making them ideal for pairing with Dobinsons 2" coils to achieve a 3" lift. New Upper Control Arms (UCAs) and a differential drop kit are recommended for optimal performance. Using these struts with stock coils will add 1" of lift, while using them with 2" coils will provide 3" of lift.
