Show original supplier description

The Pioneer AVIC-W8400NEX is an in-dash multimedia navigation receiver designed to bring modern smartphone connectivity to your vehicle. It boasts a sharp 7-inch, 16:9, 800-by-480-pixel capacitive touch screen with a user interface that can be configured to your preferences. This head unit provides seamless integration with both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, offering wireless and wired connectivity options. It also includes built-in turn-by-turn navigation utilizing an onboard mapping database. For audio, the AVIC-W8400NEX supports AM/FM HD radio, SiriusXM compatibility with an optional tuner, and playback of lossless FLAC audio files from USB drives or SD cards. It includes a built-in power amplifier and offers multiple AV outputs for external amplifiers, along with HDMI input, dual USB ports, A/V inputs, and dual camera inputs/outputs. Installation of the AVIC-W8400NEX can be complex, involving intricate wiring. While a detailed installation guide is provided, professional installation is recommended for those unfamiliar with such tasks. The unit was tested in a 2007 Toyota Tacoma, demonstrating the ability to maintain vehicle stock steering wheel controls with a third-party adapter. While Bluetooth connectivity was sometimes inconsistent during testing, once properly connected via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or USB, the system offers a convenient and safer driving experience, allowing for voice commands, hands-free calling, and texting.
