Heavy Duty In-Frame Kit. Clevite® heavy duty engine bearing lineup includes rod, main, and cam bearings, each engineered to meet the demands of today’s commercial and industrial engines. Most Clevite® rod and main bearings utilize the tr-metal CL‑112 construction. Clevite® cam bearings are precision‑bored to eliminate the need for machining after installation. Their construction includes a steel backing for support, a copper‑lead alloy layer for strength, a nickel barrier for added stability, and an electroplated babbitt overlay that promotes conformability, embedability, and low‑friction operation. The tri-metal design used in many Clevite bearings has undergone extensive durability testing and carries a 12,000‑psi rating. This material system is engineered to deliver reliable performance across a wide range of heavy‑duty applications.
