The BD Diesel 1036713 Positive Air Shut Down Valve is engineered to provide an essential safety measure for diesel engines, mitigating the risk of a runaway engine scenario. In the event of external hydrocarbons entering the engine, which can cause dangerous overspeeding and potential failure, this system acts like a fire extinguisher by cutting off the air supply to the cylinders, safely shutting down the engine within seconds. This automatic shutdown is triggered by a heavy-duty electrical solenoid that activates a locked safety cam. Constructed with durability and reliability in mind, the PAS valve features a compact butterfly valve design that is placed directly in the air intake system. It utilizes aluminum and stainless steel components, paired with weatherproof electrical connectors, to ensure resistance against corrosion and longevity in harsh operating environments. The installation process is simplified with unique bead lock boots, eliminating the need for welding. This model includes automatic engine overspeed electronics and Charge Air Cooler (CAC) pipes for specific vehicle applications. This specific BD Diesel Positive Air Shut-Off valve is designed for 2011-2016 Chevrolet and GMC trucks equipped with the 6.6L Duramax LML engine.
