The BMW Genuine Parts 13541703694 is an intake boot designed to replace the original part on specific BMW E36 models equipped with the ASC+T traction control system. This rubber boot serves as a critical connection between the air flow sensor and the ASC+T traction control valve. Its location after the air filter and mass air meter means that any damage, such as rips or tears, can allow unfiltered and unmetered air into the engine, leading to significant performance issues. Cracked or worn intake boots are a common cause of various engine problems. Leaks in this boot can result in rough running, poor idle quality, throttle surging, stumbling, hesitations, and engine misfires. While these symptoms can stem from other issues, a leak in the intake boot is a frequently encountered and relatively simple problem to diagnose and fix. This particular intake boot is an aftermarket version of the original BMW component and comes with a two-year warranty. It is specifically designed for cars with the ASC+T traction control system, typically found in the 1994 and 1995 model years. It is important to note that this part is not compatible with cars manufactured after 1995. It fits BMW 3 Series E36 models including the 325i, 325ic, 325is, and the 1995 M3.
