This front-mount relocation allows the intercooler core to receive the coolest and most abundant airflow, which is crucial for builds targeting significant power gains. By optimizing charge air temperatures, the EJ257 platform can achieve more predictable boost, sharper throttle response, and sustained power output during back-to-back runs, unlike a top-mount intercooler (TMIC) which is prone to heat soak. This comprehensive kit includes a silver-coated aluminum bar-and-plate intercooler core with dimensions of 27" wide x 11" high x 4" deep. The associated charge pipes are finished in a durable black powder coat. The kit is a complete system designed specifically for the 2015-2021 Subaru WRX STI, including the core, charge piping, couplers, and all necessary mounting hardware. No permanent vehicle modifications are required for installation, and steel bolt-on mounting brackets are provided.
